Jennifer Kirk

Hi! I'm Jenny Kirk.I love GridClub because I get to work with lots of children in a creative and exciting way. It's brilliant because we can talk to each other and I can respond to the kids' suggestions and help them to achieve their potential. GridClub really is a shared experience, which grows with and because of the great ideas provided by kids.

In Grid Club, I look after the Stories and Poetry, Art and Design and Collectors' Clubs. This is great for me because these clubs deal with things I love to do. Besides enjoying the cinema, I'm an avid reader. I also paint watercolours and collect art pottery.

When I'm not working on GridClub, I love to get out into the countryside of the Yorkshire Dales where I live. The moors and rivers are beautiful, whatever the weather.

Most of all I love travelling. My favourite place in the world is Lake Powell in Utah. It's so beautiful and grand - a vast red rock canyon, half filled with bright blue water.

Jenny is currently an Editor/Mediator for GridClub. Previously, she taught in Sheffield for seventeen years, gaining experience in the education of children from 5 to 11 years of age. She held various positions of responsibility, including Head of an Infant Department. Her great passion in schools was for developing and promoting parental involvement in the education of their children.

She has trained and worked as a complimentary therapist with children who have been bullied, and is also an Associate of the College of Healing and a coach for Core Energy Management.

Jenny is a creative person with a keen sense of humour. What she enjoys most about working in GridClub is the opportunity to share exciting projects with the children and to build a real community where learning is at the centre.
