Chris Green

Hi everyone,my name's Chris and I'm looking after the Outdoor Adventure Club and the Sports Club within GridClub. I used to be a teacher in schools but then I got hooked on computers so now I'm a Mediator for GridClub.

I think it's great when loads of club members get involved in a debate or a conversation - when I read your opinions and ideas it helps to remind me of when I was young. A long time ago!

When I'm not at my keyboard I enjoy walking my dog Barney (he's just as silly as GeeCee!) We've got a camper van and love to travel abroad. This year we have got Barney his own passport so he is coming with us.

I watch every kind of sport but don't do much myself except once a year I go skiing and every week I go rock climbing - indoors and outdoors. It keeps me fit and is exciting at the same time.

Chris Green has been an Editor/Mediator with GridClub since it started in February 2001. Chris qualified as a junior school teacher in 1975 and taught in a number of schools before specialising in working with deaf children.

After a period of teaching in colleges of Further Education he spent several years at the University of Derby where he was a Senior Lecturer involved in interpreter and teacher training. During this time Chris gained an MA in Communication Studies from Sheffield Hallam University.

Chris recently undertook a 'back to the classroom' Key Stage 2 re-training course in order to keep in touch with all the changes now taking place in the junior school sector. With his knowledge of deafness and children with other special educational needs Chris adds a different visual dimension to the GridClub team.
